Switching to Uniconta
Switching from another package
Do you work in a package that does not have its own page on this site, such as Newbase, Twinfield or SnelStart? The same fixed switching service applies. Every Dutch accounting package can create an XAF audit file, and our migration builds on that.
How it works
Why it works with any package
The difference between packages is in the screens and the set-up, not in what an administration has to be able to deliver. Every Dutch package can create an XAF audit file with the bookings of a period. That audit file is the basis for the financial migration, wherever you come from.
For the data that is not in an audit file, such as items, stock and open orders, we ask you to export lists. Which lists we need, we record beforehand. That way you know what to supply and what we do with it.
We do not claim live connectors to the packages you come from. We work with the files your package creates itself. That is less spectacular than a connector, but it can be checked: you can inspect the files yourself before we load them.
Every package has its own way of creating an audit file. Usually that function is under the exports or under the data for accountants. If you do not know where, we work it out together in the introduction. We can tell you which period and which options we need.
If your package is older, the audit file may be in a different version. Uniconta imports XAF 3.2 and 4.0. If your package creates another version, we discuss beforehand how we can still use the file, before the trial conversion starts.
The same goes for the lists outside the audit file. An export to Excel or CSV is usually enough, as long as the columns are clear. We give you an example of the layout we need beforehand, so you do not have to guess.
We mention Newbase, Twinfield and SnelStart here only as examples of packages SMEs work with. This is not a comparison and we make no statements about those packages. The point is that the switch does not depend on the brand but on the files the package can create.
If you have a package that is not named here, that is no problem. As long as it is a Dutch accounting package, it can create an audit file. Tell us which package you use and we will tell you which files we need.
What often goes wrong
What to watch for with another package
Packages differ, and you notice that in a few places.
Different charts of accounts
Every package has its own layout of ledger accounts. We map the chart of accounts to RGS, so you start in Uniconta with a recognisable structure.
What an audit file does not contain
An audit file contains bookings, not open orders or stock. Those come from lists you export and that we check in the trial conversion.
Own connections and reports
If you have connections or reports that belong to the old package, they do not come along. Custom reports are outside the fixed scope.
The size of the past
You do not have to load all historical data. Older years we keep as an archive of audit files.
A package that exports little
Not every package makes it equally easy to export data. If the export disappoints, we find out beforehand what is possible, instead of discovering it during the trial.
Data in more than one source
If your items are in one system and your accounts in another, that is more work. Data from several sources and cleaning up we agree with you beforehand.
In Uniconta
What you get in Uniconta
We set up the chart of accounts mapped to RGS, transfer the master data, the opening balance and the open items, and take the open orders and the stock with cost price along. Uniconta imports XAF 3.2 and 4.0.
We do the conversion in a test environment, so you can check the result before the final transfer takes place. You can read more about Uniconta itself on the Uniconta page.
In the set-up we follow the standard of Uniconta. The standard first, only then deviations. We do not develop custom work in Uniconta, and that is why we can give a fixed price, whichever package you come from.
If you want to know what Uniconta does for your company before you decide, read the Uniconta page about finance, trade, production and projects. In the introduction we show which part of it is relevant for you.
Switching from another package to Uniconta also means your way of working may change. Uniconta is cloud ERP for finance, trade, production and projects and follows its own standard. We start at that standard and only then look at whether a deviation is needed.
That suits an SME that mainly wants its administration to be right and its system to grow with it. In the introduction we tell you what that means for your situation.
Our switching service
The switch as a fixed service
Whether you come from Newbase, Twinfield, SnelStart or another package: the scope is the same and is on the switching page.
Order, quote and item history older than the open items is outside the scope. The price is fixed before we start.
The fixed price applies to the scope as it is on the switching page. That way you know up front what you get and what it costs, and it does not matter which package you use.
