    Switching to Uniconta

    Replacing Exact Globe with Uniconta

Do you work in Exact Globe and wonder what the future of that package means for your company? Then it helps to know what Exact itself publishes and which choices you have. Below is what Exact writes, and how we approach a switch to Uniconta.

    How it works

What to know about switching from Exact Globe

Start at the source. Exact publishes its own information about the support for Exact Globe and the route to Exact Globe+. We do not summarise that information in our own words but quote it below with a link, so you can read for yourself what it says and what the date of the document is.

That leaves you with roughly two directions: the route Exact offers, or a switch to another system. Only Exact or your Exact partner can tell you what the first route involves. If you choose Uniconta, we take on the work described in the switching service.

For the data it works as with any Dutch package: the financial migration runs through an XAF audit file, supplemented by lists for master data and open items. The whole sequence is in the step-by-step plan.

Which route you choose depends on what you want from your administration. If you mainly want certainty that the package stays supported, the route Exact offers is the first thing to look into. If you also want to set up your processes again, for example because orders, stock and finance now live in separate lists, a switch is a natural moment to do that.

We do not compare Exact Globe with Uniconta on price or functions, and we do not say what is better for your company without knowing your situation. What we do is show up front which data we take along and how we check it.

In practice you start with an inventory: which administrations you have, which financial years are still open and which parts beyond the accounting you use, such as stock and projects. That decides which lists we need from you and which switch date fits.

Expect a package that has been used for years to carry years of agreements as well: fixed price lists, discounts per customer, payment terms. That master data comes along if it is in the lists you export. What only exists in colleagues’ heads has to be put on paper first.

What Exact itself says about Exact Globe

From Exact’s document ‘How-to: Migrating from Exact Globe to Exact Globe+’. The quotes are verbatim.

“Exact Globe Next will be supported by our support department until the end of 2027”
“the final full-service pack for Exact Globe Next was made available in March 2026”
“Your Exact partner or account manager can help you with the next steps.”

    What often goes wrong

What makes replacing an old package hard

A package that has been used for years has a history of its own. You notice that when you replace it.

    • Years of accumulated data

There are relations, items and accounts that are not all needed. A conversion lets you choose what comes along instead of copying everything blindly.

    • Customisations and own reports

If reports and forms were adapted, they do not come along automatically. Custom reports from your old package are outside the fixed scope.

    • A deadline you do not set yourself

When a date comes from outside, you want calm in the planning. Plan the go-live on a switch date that suits your financial year, instead of the tightest deadline.

    • Open orders that keep running

A switch in the middle of the process must not affect a customer. That is why we take all open orders on the switch date, with the old order numbers kept as a reference.

    • Several administrations

If your organisation has more than one administration, we agree up front how we handle them. That way the trial conversion can be checked per administration.

    • Users who are used to the old way of working

People work the same way for years. Plan the first period after go-live with attention for questions, and use the aftercare to let the new way of working settle calmly.

    In Uniconta

    What you get in Uniconta

In Uniconta we set up the chart of accounts mapped to RGS, the master data, the opening balance and the open items. On top of that come the open orders, stock per item and location with cost price, and the current financial year through the XAF audit file.

Uniconta is cloud ERP: you work over the internet and do not have to manage a server yourself. What Uniconta does for finance, trade, production and projects is on the Uniconta page.

In the set-up we follow the standard of Uniconta: the standard first, and only then deviations. We do not develop custom work in Uniconta. That is why we can give a fixed price and you know up front what you get.

For day-to-day work we go through the most used processes with your team: creating a sales invoice, processing a purchase order, matching a payment. That way everyone knows where to be on the first working day in Uniconta.

A switch also needs attention for who may do what in the new system. We set up the users and rights according to the roles you give us, so that everyone can reach the screens that belong to their work from the first day.

    Our switching service

The switch as a fixed service

A switch from Exact Globe falls under the fixed switching service. The scope is on the switching page: what comes across, what does not and which date we prefer.

We keep older years as an archive of audit files, so you keep meeting the retention obligation without those years being in Uniconta.

A fixed price means you know up front what the switch costs. What falls outside the scope we also name up front. That way there is no open-ended process in which the costs rise along the way, which is reassuring after years in the same package.
